We Were Three — A True Story of Brotherly Loss and Healing | Episode 1

Three friends walking together at sunset in a real-life story about loss and survival

Where Life Broke Us

We were three.

Me.
Tariq.
Sultan.

Young.
Full of life.
Still dreaming of tomorrow.

One day, my older brother called me from work.
He was at the hospital.

He said:
“Bring me some food.”

So we went.

We walked into the hospital…
and walked into silence.

Bodies.

Still.
Broken.
Unrecognizable.

For a moment, none of us understood.

Our friends had arrived before us in ambulances.

The hospital was full.

Friends.
Relatives.
Black clothes.
Tears.

My brother looked at us and said:
“What’s going on?”

Someone told him.

“Tariq… passed away.”

He didn’t understand.

Not yet.

Suddenly, he remembered something.

He said:
“Tariq came here earlier… with his brother.”

He ran.

He ran to the ambulance.

He lifted the cover.

The face was destroyed.

He couldn’t recognize him.

Fear grew.

“Where is my brother?”

Another ambulance arrived.

He ran again.

Lifted the cover.

The head was badly injured.

Still… he couldn’t recognize him.

He went to the doctor.

“Where is my brother?”

The doctor said:
“This is him.”

My brother didn’t believe it.

He shouted:
“Remove that wood from his leg!”

The doctor looked at him and said quietly:

“Son… that’s not wood.”

“That’s his bone.”

That was the moment fear became real.

And everything changed.

While he was unconscious,
life was rewriting everything.

The worst was yet to come.

We thought the worst was over.

We were wrong.

What came next…

Changed our lives forever.
